The Coravin Timeless uses a precision engineered needle to gently pass through natural cork, allowing wine to be poured while replacing the liquid with 100% pure argon gas, an inert food-safe gas already used in the winemaking process. Once the needle is removed, the cork naturally reseals, keeping the remaining wine completely unaffected, even years later.

Designed for use with natural cork, Timeless is also compatible with screwcap bottles when used with the Coravin Screw Cap accessory.

How do Coravin Timeless wine by-the-glass systems work?
Using your Coravin® Timeless™ wine by-the-glass system is simple: insert, tip, and pour.

Start by placing the system on top of your bottle. In one smooth motion, press down firmly in one smooth motion, this allows the precision-engineered needle to pass through the cork. Tilt the bottle as if you were pouring from an open one. Then, quickly press and release the trigger to inject pure argon gas into the bottle. Wine flows when the trigger is released.

Repeat press-and-release movements to continue your pour. When you’ve poured what you want, tip the bottle upright to stop the flow. To remove the system, grasp the handle and pull straight up.

The cork will reseal naturally, keeping the remaining wine fresh – as if it were never opened – for even years later. For the Timeless Eleven model, just tilt and pour; it pressurizes automatically.
How do I attach the Aerator to a Coravin System?
Ensure that you are using the correct Aerator for your system. Simply push the Aerator on to the Spout of the Coravin wine by-the-glass system. Ensure it is tightly attached. Then, use your Coravin System as you normally would.
Why is there a Bottle Sleeve included with my system?
Bottles that are cracked or chipped can break. We provide a Coravin Wine Bottle Sleeve for safety if you are more comfortable using one.
Does Argon affect the taste of the wine?
Argon is an inert, non-reactive gas, which means it does not engage with the wine or its components. Because of this property, argon is used in Coravin's wine by-the-glass systems to protect still wines from oxidation without altering their taste or aroma. This ensures that each pour maintains the integrity and quality of the wine.
Does Coravin really keep wine fresh?

Coravin Timeless™ uses a precision-engineered needle and 100% Pure™ Argon gas to pour without removing the cork, keeping the remaining wine completely unaffected so it continues to age naturally for enjoyment even years later.

Coravin Pivot+® works with any closure type. By replacing the bottle’s closure with the Pivot Stopper and injecting 100% Pure™ Argon gas as you pour, it keeps wine fresh for up to four weeks.

Coravin Sparkling® uses a universal charger with 100% pure CO₂ – the same gas that naturally creates bubbles in sparkling wine – to maintain original taste and bubbles for at least four weeks.
Why does Coravin use Argon gas?
Coravin Timeless™ and Pivot+® wine by-the-glass systems use 100% Pure Argon gas because it’s an inert, food-safe gas already trusted by winemakers to protect wine during production. Argon is heavier than oxygen, so it forms a protective barrier inside the bottle, shielding the remaining wine from oxygen and keeping it completely unaffected – allowing it to continue aging naturally for weeks, months, or even years, depending on the system.
Does Coravin work on synthetic corks?
Coravin Timeless™ wine by-the-glass systems are designed for natural corks and will not reseal synthetic corks. If your bottle has a synthetic cork, you can remove it and use the Coravin Pivot+® wine by-the-glass system instead. The Pivot Stopper creates an airtight seal that keeps wine fresh for up to four weeks, regardless of closure type.
Can I use Coravin on screwcap bottles?
Yes. Coravin Timeless™ wine by-the-glass systems work with screwcap bottles when used with the Coravin Timeless Screw Cap accessory, which creates a secure, reusable seal that lasts for up to three months. Coravin Pivot+® is also compatible with screwcap bottles using the Pivot Stopper, keeping wine fresh for up to four weeks.
Should I use Coravin for expensive wines only?
Not at all. While Coravin is perfect for accessing rare or special bottles, it’s just as valuable for enjoying any wine on your terms. Many wine lovers and restaurants use Coravin for everything from weekday pours to fine vintages, because it lets you explore different bottles without the pressure to finish them. Whether it’s a treasured collectible or a casual favorite, Coravin keeps every glass tasting exactly as it should.
Does using Coravin damage the cork?
No – natural corks are self-sealing, so after the Coravin precision-engineered needle is removed, they naturally expand back to their original shape. You can access the same bottle multiple times without affecting its ability to protect the wine. After around 15 punctures, the cork may begin to lose its seal, so for frequent small pours it’s best to replace the cork to maintain perfect protection
